At the onset of the novel coronavirus outbreak, healthcare workers were among the first to take action. These medical professionals were also among the first to report the capacity and supply shortages to do their jobs safely. Video Communications Fellow Maris Medina takes you through what it’s like to see her family at the frontlines in the fight against COVID-19.
This pandemic has shown us how much our working families are interconnected and essential. Unfortunately, when we celebrate everyday heroes, not all frontline workers are as recognized or defended. From delivery truck drivers to grocery store workers, and from custodians to caregivers, we have so many heroes in our communities. Often, they are left using their superpowers without protection or relief. We must join together. Community Change and our partners are still organizing while physically distancing. Together, we can flatten the curve and make lasting change for a country where we ALL can be safe and protected. #WhatWeNeed
