2021’s Womxn of the World Poetry Slam champion Ayanna Albertson learned many valuable lessons by seeing her mother make community in the lives she touched. As an educator, she fostered and raised many children. And as a single mother she was very intentional about how she made decisions for her family. Abundance was not always about having the most or even giving the most. These lessons shaped Ayanna’s approach to her art. She knows her gifts can always make an impact, while also nurturing herself. Her poetry don’t need the most words, but through being intentional like her mother, she knows that there is power in knowing what you do share is enough.
