We all know change is hard.
And it takes the hard work of people united across the nation, dedicated to changing the conditions that create poverty and inequity, and working to build power in low-income communities and communities of color.
On September 22, the Center for Community Change will honor six leaders from diverse fields who are making a difference at our annual Community Change Champion Awards event.
These Community Change Champions – all heroes of the social justice movement – are six extraordinary people and organizations whose work is making progress toward social justice a reality.
Starting this week, we will feature the stories of each of these individuals, honoring their work that has reshaped the political landscape and challenged us to press forward toward a better world.
But remember – it takes more than a few people to nourish the social justice movement, and we can help every day in our own ways and in our own communities.
Stay tuned this week for more about this year’s honorees, and see if you can draw inspiration from tehir stories to be champion for social justice in your own community.
