We came together to show we are a powerful nationwide force. Monday, May 13, 2024 marked one of the largest child care organizing days in history. Thousands of people were in the streets for Community Change Action and Childcare Changemaker’s 3rd annual “Day Without Child Care” – with more than 1100 providers closing their doors, with the support of the families they serve, across 86 organizing events in more than 26 states and D.C.

“The child care system is in crisis, but the child care movement has never been stronger,” said Jennifer Wells, Director of Economic Justice and Community Change Action on the show Yes! Presents Rising Up with Sonali Kolhatkar.
