I had the opportunity to travel from my hometown Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Chicago, Illinois, to participate in a Guaranteed Income Blitz with Community Change. Before this trip, I knew about guaranteed income and had canvassed before, but never in this capacity. More than 75 people from all over the U.S. gathered in Chicago, and we were tasked with knocking on 1,000 doors in three days. We surpassed that goal by knocking on more than 2,000 doors, and we got over 300 people to sign the pledge to support a permanent Guaranteed Income program in Illinois. Participating in the Guaranteed Income Blitz inspired me to educate others about the importance of Guaranteed Income and encourage the support of permanent Guaranteed Income programs in Illinois and beyond. Guaranteed Income is a necessity for economic equity.
