Americans are angry these days. You can see it at the Occupy Wall Street protests. You see it in states where governors have pushed through severe anti-union measures that are punishing public servants. You see it just about everywhere you go now.
Americans are angry because our elected leaders are not listening when we say our number one issue is creating good jobs and getting our economy moving again. We’ve been angry before, but this time, it’s different.
This time, we’re coming together to fight for an agenda we know will put Americans back to work, and stimulate our economy.
This agenda is the American Dream Movement, an effort to knit together the amazing grassroots organizing already in motion across the country and to inspire new efforts. Through our action arm Change Nation, we are helping get this movement off the ground.
We urge everyone to get involved in the hundreds of state and local actions that will be ongoing this fall. Our agenda has three simple parts:
Tax corporations and the wealthy. They should be paying their fair share in taxes.
Protect and strengthen our social contract. Essential programs like Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security must not be cut.
Create millions of jobs for the unemployed.
We think this is worth fighting for. Join us in fighting for the American Dream Movement. Channel your anger in a positive way to help create jobs and get our economy back on track.
